Med-E-Serv is committed to maintaining the highest
ethical standards in the development and delivery of the PriMeD
curriculum. The following standards are incorporated in signed agreements
with sponsors:
- The goals of the educational activity are clearly stated and
available to users.
- Clinical content is organised using the "Whole Person
Approach".
- Information about the qualification and background of the clinical
experts and facilitators is available at the commencement of the
program.
- The content is based on the best available scientific and clinical
knowledge.
- There is a clear separation between education and the promotion
of a product, device or service.
- The educational material is free of commercial bias for or
against any company, product, device or service.
- Any possible competing interest on the part of clinical experts,
facilitators or others involved with the development of the material
is clearly stated.
- The copyright of educational content is invested in Med-E-Serv
in conjunction with the various contributors.
PriMeD sponsorship provides an opportunity for
a third party to be associated with the PriMeD program. The purpose
of Sponsorship Agreements is to reduce the cost of PriMeD participation
to primary health professionals in Australia. PriMeD Education is
developed in isolation from sponsorship and sponsors do not influence
PriMeD content. Strict quality control, both internal and external
to the PriMeD Education Team, ensures this.
When PriMeD is accessed online, the Sponsors
presence is limited to allocated space on the screen which is clearly
delineated from PriMeD material. If participants 'click' into the
Sponsors area, the wording and design clearly indicate that the
participant has exited PriMeD and entered the Sponsor's website.
