Med-E-Serv education programs are developed and delivered to ensure the highest possible
standards of scientific integrity and educational quality.
- The programs are developed on the basis of a formal needs analysis,
with extensive consultation and review to ensure they meet the
current needs of working health professionals.
- Evidenced Based Medicine (EBM), where available, forms the basis
of the scientific content.
- Where expertise is sought from individuals, these individuals
are demonstrably recognised by their peers as having expertise
in the topic area.
- One of the design principles of the scientific program is that
it is to be free from commercial bias. All contributors and stakeholders
must declare any commercial interest if it conflicts with this
principle.
- The content material is reviewed annually and following
review, revision takes place as required.
- The expertise of working practitioners is recognised through
membership of the Advisory Committees and involvement
in development and delivery of the programs.
- The variety of practice contexts, patient and health professional
profiles and attributes are reflected in the case material.
- Adult learning principles are embodied in the educational design.
- A variety of learning styles are catered for and participants
have the opportunity to customise their learning programs to suit
their individual needs and learning styles.
A multidisciplinary primary care National Advisory Committee has
been convened to assist the Med-E-Serv PriMeD team to consult effectively
and incorporate the broadest and best insights into their planning
and implementation. The Chairman of the National Advisory Committee
is Professor Dimity Pond. Members include pharmacists, general practitioners,
and other stakeholders. The National Advisory Committee has reviewed
and approved the PriMeD Curriculum.

PriMeD Educational Development
A team of experienced educators develops PriMeD units with input
from individuals or groups that hold recognised expertise in that
topic area, and also working health professionals.
After a unit is developed a panel of experts, a focus group of
the target clinicians, then subject it to review.
The Med-E-Serv National Advisory Committee regularly reviews all
types of units developed and the developmental process to ensure
quality educational and clinical standards are met.
The online Facilitators lead participants in groups through the
units and workshops.
Med-E-Serv owns the PriMeD brand and PriMeD is a Med-E-Serv service.
Participants in PriMeD programs are customers of Med-E-Serv.
Med-E-Serv is the copyrighted owner of all PriMeD content, educational
design, software and PriMeD administration material. Med-E-Serv
is responsible for the design, delivery and successful outcomes
of the PriMeD program.
PriMeD quality management systems ensure that participants experience
PriMeD in accordance with the standards and brand guarantee.
To ensure that the PriMeD standards and brand guarantee are delivered
to all participants in any setting where PriMeD is made available,
all stakeholders involved in the chain of development and delivery
are governed by contracts which embody their rights and responsibilities.
The PriMeD administration systems ensure that the user experience
is maintained at a guaranteed high quality, and that Facilitators
and Experts/Lecturers have the required expertise to fulfill their
roles in supporting a high standard in learning environments.
Med-E-Serv retains the right as the Accredited Provider of the
education to audit any educational activity and the administrative
processes behind it to ensure the PriMeD standards are maintained.
